Carb and Fiber question

Options
Guys,
I thought you have to subtract the amount of fiber content from the carb content and that gives you the real amount of carb you are eating. So I used to eat Hemp high fiber high protein powder. That has 12 grams of carb out of which 11 grams is fiber, so per my calculation, that 1 serving of hemp that I consumed just has 1 gm of carb? Is my assumption correct or do I have wrong information.

Thank you in advance for your help

I've honestly never heard of this fiber carb equation, where did you hear about this from?

As a low carb person, I work with this all the time. It's the "net carb" concept as fiber doesn't really impact blood sugar and the body doesn't have an insulin response to it.

Only subtract insoluble fiber from the carb count, as it is not processed by your body. Soluble fiber however should not be subtracted from the carb count because it is absorbed and processed by your body.
