I started the 30 day shred yesterday, and it really didn't feel like I did much after I was finished except for the fact that my knees were killing me. Today was my second day so I skipped on the lunges because of my knee problems, but I feel like it really was a lot harder than yesterdays! The cardio got to me more as well as the arm strength training. Has this happened to anyone else am I doing it wrong?

I've tried the 30DS before and have not been able to finish it...but I'm trying again since I'm going on a trip in August.
My 2nd day is today, so I hope I can push through it! The 1st day wasn't so bad...just have to keep with it! I think it's best to take a day break every once in a while also. I think that's why I quit the first time: because I just couldn't do it for 30 days straight.0 -
The first few times I did 30DS level one I thought it wasn't as hard as I was expecting.... until I upped the weights. I went from 2 lb weights to 4 lb weights and it made all the difference! I've tried to pay attention to the weights as I've continued through the other videos. If my muscles aren't spent after the strength circuits I know I need to upppppp the weights. Good luck! 30DS has been a miracle workout for me, I've seen a lot of results from it.0

I just started 30DS yesterday, so today will be my second day. After reading this I'm a little nervous for the second day! Hopefully I can make it all the way through. I made it through everything yesterday. I'll let you know if it is a lot harder today0

I usually found it took me 3-4 days to get into the levels, then it became REALLY hard! Like it would take me a while to get used to what I was doing, and only when I really started doing it on form it would exhaust me! So by the time I was working really hard on level 1, I moved to level 2 and it became 'easy' again until I got used to it (actually, I never really got used to level 2!) then I moved to level 3 and same again.
I'd like to go over it again, and I imagine it'll be just as hard the second time round (even after I've done this round of Insanity) because I'll up the weights too.0 -
Today will be my second day with 30 day shred. After my first session, I felt like I wanted to throw up, but I appreciated how sore my muscles felt afterwards.0

For me.. it felt like it was gradually harder on me until after day 4 then it started getting "easier" for lack of better words lol. I've done 2 rounds of it.0

As muscle soreness sets in it will feel harder for a few days. You could have a day off if its really bad or just push through. It gets easier as your body gets used to the moves.
Keep modifying any moves that are going to cause you problems otherwise an injury could put your workouts on hold for a long while. I can't do any high impact moves so I modified all the jumping with stepping and still saw results.
Edit: Maybe you need a longer warm up or cool down than she does on the video?0 -
THE 30DS IS HARD! I have been doing it for four days and it really works! i can already tell a difference . KEEP IT UP!0

the first 3 days were the worst for me, I was REALLY sore, but I pushed on and it was much better by day 4. I could actually tell I was getting stronger after the first week. It is worth it to complete it, I saw major loss in inches (not a lot in weight, maybe 3-4 lbs) so make sure you take measurements or you will be discouraged by the scale!0

How does the 30DS works? and is it on a DVD or something?
It's a Jillian Michaels DVD -- consisting of 3 levels of exercises in increasing intensity -- combines strength/cardio. You can find level 1 online (and some of the other levels too). I found my copy at Best Buy for $9.99. It's really popular here because of the crazy results it yields in just 30 days time. I'm on day 8 of level 1 and love it and getting geared up for level 2. Hope this helps0 -
Yep. All at home unless your gym has a DVD player and tv you can use haha. The reason I started it is because I'll be going on vacation with no access to a gym and wanted to have some way to still be able to work out. It kicks your butt even though not in a gym! I use 5 pound weights too. A fact I some days regret...0

I mix 30DS with jogging (alternating each day) and feel I'm getting fitter!0

I did day 5 last night and while it is still super hard I can feel myself getting stronger. I can keep up a lot mroe than I could on the first day. I've only seen one pound loss so far, but I'm not too concerned. I'm trying to wait until I finish the whole program before I measure myself. I think after I finish the first round I want to go back and do the whole program again with 8 or 10 pound weights this time (currently using 5). Has anyone done anything like that?0
