Excercise that targets the belly

I'm trying to target my stomach, its my biggest problem area. I have lost almost 80lbs, but would like to see more of the inches come from the belly. Right now I'm an avid walker, just joined the gym and in the past have done the elpitcal, aqua size and lane swims.

Anyone have any ideas on what I should be doing?

I'm sure this will be the first of many similar replies you will get.

You can't target fat loss in a specific area with exercise. You can tone the muscles underneath the fat, but the only thing that will remove those layers of fat is eating at a caloric deficit. Unfortunately, for many folks (you and me both), the midsection is that last area that seems to lose the fat.

So, keep working out, but know that ultimately, you're going to earn your abs in the kitchen.

You CAN'T target fat loss. Your body is going to burn the fat on your body where it will based on genetics.

    True story.

Anything that'll help you burn fat will (eventually) get rid of the tummy. So just do what you like, be it swimming, weight lifting, or running.

The most important thing is to monitor what you put in your mouth. My tummy was one of the first places I lost, but my hips haven't budged. It's just part of the game.
