Stupid Sugar

I've been on a sugar kick lately so now it's time to kick the sugar. Today I feel like $h*t. Also tried to up protein and down carbs and all that combined has me feeling drained. I'm not hungry just feel like sleeping for a week. Thank goodness for a 3yo to keep me going. How long does this last? I guess it can't be long since I don't remember it being bad last time. I do remember not craving sugar after going about a week without. I just wish it was a week later right now! Anyone else going through sugar detox?

I'm with you - I love and crave sugar, especially chocolate. But, try drinking lots more water or maybe some green tea (try not to sweeten it if you can). Increasing your protein like you said and also increasing your low cal but full of fiber vegies could help - I find that keeps me full longer. But there's not a lot I've found to cure the sugar cravings - I've been known to go to bed REALLY early just to keep from giving in.0

I hear you I am a total sugar junky. I haven't eaten much of any added sugars since Sunday. Other than in like sauces on my chicken or something, no actually sweets except fruit. It only took me about the first 3 days to stop thinking about the candy bowl at work. fruit and raw almonds make for good snacks to stave it off. Obviously the fruit is sweet and the fat from the almonds is satisfying too. Its a vicious circle, eating lots of sugar or simple carbs make you crave more, so just hang in there for a bit!0

Up until a few weeks ago I was mostly sugar free going on six months, the first couple of days (maybe 3) were the worst, by one week in it is not so bad and by two weeks I hardly missed sugar. I guess it probably depends on the person! Good luck, stick with it I have found it a very successful strategy to lose weight and feel great!! You will get through!0

Sugar is an inanimate object. It doesn't possess the intelligence therefor can't be labeled as 'stupid'.
People without diabetes doing unnecessary sugar 'detoxes' however . . . .0 -
No wonder you feel like $h1T!! It might have been a bit easier to do one at a time!! Still, there is nothing like getting it all out of the way at once. I guess it will last for a few days, but that's little more than an inspired guess! Good luck!!0
