My not so healthy appetite :-/

So I am new to MFP and so far I am ABSOLUTELY loving it!!:)

I love I am able to keep track ALL day whether by phone or computer of what I'm eating and counting calories it's a brand new experience and I haven't actually tried any form of diet since I was a junior in high school.

So, I've been trying to go day by day, and figure out what works best for me, which I know will take more time than the 3 days I've been doing this.

I have a co-worker who introduced me to MFP and her calorie intake is less than mine and she manages! But I struggle to NOT consume over 1800 calories!

my problem is I feel like I'm ALWAYS hungry! I have an office job and tbh I don't like it , but I constantly feel like I'm hungry. I don't know if working an office job is the problem, I usually don't have this problem and barely think about food when I'm on the go. But because I have the main routine of work/home/sleep (budget) it seems like all I want to do is EAT.

I can do a little better at home but it just seems like at work, I just want to snack, snack, snack!

Help!

Any suggestions??

I'd make your diary public. What do you eat? What I eat and when I eat really determines how hungry I feel!

Drink water all day - lots of water. A bag of baby carrots is great for snacking.

Are you eating enough for your activity level?

Hunger is good. Hunger is healthy. Hunger is a signal from your body that says, "Oh, hi! Feed me, I need nutrients!"

Ask yourself though...is it actually hunger? Thirst is often misconstrued in your brain as hunger. Drink lots of water. Could be boredom too...the need to 'do' something leads to mindless snackage at times.

Above all though, you know your body. If you're hungry...eat! And when you eat, get in plenty of protein so that you feel fuller longer.

I'm a bored eater and totally understand where you're coming from. I've recently been told that your body can tell you it's hungry when it's actually thirsty so I'm trying to drink more water. (I don't know if I believe this because water doesn't satisfy me.) Also, apparently Tootsie Roll pops are great because it takes a while to eat them so they satisfy the hand to mouth urge and they only have about 50 calories. I may try this.
