Mommy Weight

Hi All!

I'm new to MyFitnessPal and I had a baby about 10 months ago. Right before I found out that I was pregnant I had lost 40 pounds. I got pregnant and then I gained 65 pounds in my pregnancy. Made me very upset and unhappy. I am now down 35 pounds since then so I still have 30+ pounds to lose. I really want to do this very badly but I am having a hard time finding the time to create a healthy meal that still gives me enough time to take care of my baby. Anybody have any great recipes for a time cruncher?

Thank you!

My main ideas are usually crockpot meals and freezing. You can make something healthy like soups with tons of veggies, chicken, and other things that are good for you in there and you can relax all day with your littles while doing it! I have 3 kids (2,3,and 10) and its pretty rough. I make LOTS of veggies, good for everybody and filling. Big spinach salads. Cut up your veggies when you have time so that you can always just go to the fridge when your hungry and there are already pre-made carrot sticks, green veggies, etc ready for you! With the freezing look up healthy recipes and then make them in advance. I usually cook and put several homemade 'pizzas' (whole wheat flat wrap, tons of veggies, and some low-sodium Canadian bacon) and you can heat those up. Or make burritos for breakfast and lunch with a wheat flat wrap, some egg whites, a little low-fat cheese, and some healthy meat if you want it. Just stick it in the microwave for 1:00 and your done!

I've also noticed a lot of people have those Healthy Choice or the other healthy microwavable dinners they make all the time. They are high in sodium, but they can be really easy to make and add some veggies and a salad. Or buy the pre-cooked chicken in the cans, or tuna and I usually just make a quick wrap with chicken or tuna, salsa, and some raw spinach. Filling and good for you! Takes like 3 minutes. I also like those veggie "burgers" or chicken patties from Good Morning or Boca. They are made of soy and only take 1:30 to throw it in the microwave and it's done quick.

Kamilah - Absolutely! I can do the eating thing ok. I'm just having some issues getting up and actually exercising. I need to do this so I can actually eat and feel full. Right now I'm at the point where I feel like I need to exercise but I just don't have the energy!

Lacey - I'm so happy that I'm not the only one who went through this! I have struggled with weight all my life and I finally lost the weight and then became pregnant and gained it all back and then some. No fun...Looks like you are doing great though! Keep up the awesome work! It is totally worth it in the end! =)
