I am so annoyed with myself!

I know I shouldn't have done it but I weighed myself this morning because I felt heavier and I am heavier, I have put on a pound! My official weigh-in is tomorrow, is there anything I can do to help me lose a pound by tomorrow to get me back on track?

I'm so upset, I really wish I found this easy. I am just really struggling to keep motivated at the moment.

Utterly down in the dumps!

  • Hey there, i know theres nothing worse than a weigh in that you hate, when my dietician was making me put on weight from my anorexia (i weighed 92lbs and am 6 feet tall) i haated getting on the scales, one pound isnt the end of the world though, and there could be a number of different factors that could be contributing to it, it could be excess water if you've had salty foods recently, or if your bowel or bladder are full that can count for a bit also.

I know people say you should weigh yourself once a week but i weigh myself almost daily, i know its a more fluctuant rating doing it this way, but it helps me with a lot of my fears, don't freak out if you've put on a pound though, you can always take it off again =]

My weight loss techniques are drastic and not reccommended, but yesterday i lost 4.2lb in a day, bt this is coz i only ate 2 carrots and exercised 1180 calories off, feel free to message me if you freak out, i've been there and am often back there xo

Wait till tomorrow and get back on the scale!! I weigh every other day and my weight can shift 3 or 4 lb in either direction depending on the time or if i've been to the toilet yet. If you really are down about it get up and exercise it will then feel to you like your making a stand but for me I wouldn't worry it may have disappeared by tomorrow and taken a friend with it :)

ah i know what you mean! i weighed myself before breakfast... but i'm going to blame my weight gain on the scales because one second i was 69kg, and then i did it again and i was 67kg! still, 67 is the weight i started at and i really want to start losing!! :(
i think the best thing to do would just be keeping with your routine and drink pleeeenty of water, be active most of the day and eat lots of healthy foods! water is the key i think, it curbs cravings and washes out most of the bad toxins in your body. i'll be drinking 10 glasses today! also have you tried green tea? i used to drink green tea twice every day and lost 2 pounds in a week and a half! but the past few days ive stopped and ive found its slowed down my weight loss speed... (green tea speeds up your metabolism) so you should give that a try! tea really fills you up too, so whenever you feel like crappy food have a green tea instead and you'll not want it anymore!

im finding it really hard too, and i'm pretty sure we're around the same weight (well im actually 10 stone 5) but if we both help to keep each other keep motivated we will succeed! its just so so so hard! but worth it every bit in the end!

how long have you been doing this for btw? because if you've only just started exercising, and you're already in a healthy weight range you might find a lot of the weight gain is muscle and water! (thats what i've found) just keep working hard and once your muscles are fully developed you will lose weight!

ps. dont pay attention to your scales (something i should do as well) it'll only make you sad! what you should do is measure your hips and waist etc and see if there are changes there!
  • Thanks for your messages.

I only started this two weeks ago and only been exercising properly for a week. I know I should give it more time but I just find it difficult when people around me are losing and eating cr4p all day and I maybe have something bad but I count it in and I still don't lose. I am going to try the Paul Makenna thing tonight, I did it a couple of years ago and lost half a stone but you have to keep doing the techniques which i forgot so it wears off and you start putting it all back on again.

If I could just lose 3 or 4 lb it would make me feel so much better, like I'm making an improvement.

    xx
  • You'll get there, weight loss is a slow process, if you want my 'healthy' advice, eat lean proteins, consuming proteins such as chicken breast or tuna raises your resting metabolism because it requires more energy to break down than carbs do, protein also fills you up quickly, and also helps to maintain your muscle mass while losing weight, since 'weight' loss is made up of muscle, water and fat you want to keep your protein level high to make sure you're just losing the fat part.

Also drink green tea, it raises your metabolism
