Cool Ranch Avacdo Dip

3-4 large Tomatillos'
1 White onion (med to large)
Cilantro
Serrano's (1-2)
Crushed Garlic (1 good size tablespoon to start)
Season Salt (to taste)
2 med to large Avocados
Ranch Dip Dry mix packet (not dressing packet)
Lemon to taste

Boil Tomatillos' and Serrano's till the skin looks like its getting ready to peel off the Tomatillo's. (Tomatillos' come with a brown sheath......remove it.)
Put everything in the blender. After blending add the ranch dip because this will thicken it up the dip. Your tomatoes are the key, everything else works around them. Play with it a little by adding the avocado slowly. You may want more or less, the more you use the creamier it will be. Same with the onion, garlic and salt, all to taste. Same with the Serrano, its mostly for flavor and not to be hot. Use it slowly. If you have time refrigerate for a couple hours. If not, enjoy it right away. The only thing I ask is if you make this and you like it please let me know. I would appreciate it. Good luck

If you have additional questions please feel free to send me a message.

Wow, this sounds amazing! Thanks so much for the recipe! My daughter is allergic to eggs so I am always looking for alternative recipes to dips/mayo!

Anything with tomatillos, cilantro, and serrano peppers has me sold! This looks fantastic! This dry ranch substitution I found online (http://www.lowsodiumcooking.com/free/RanchDressingMix.htm) might work as well to cut out some of the salt:

    1/2 c buttermilk powder
    1 T dried parsley,crushed
    1 t dried dill weed
    1 t onion powder
    1 t dried minced onion
    1/2 t garlic powder
    1/4 t ground pepper

I don't know how this would taste, but I am very sodium-conscious these days, and those dry ranch packets (tasty as they are) have a bit more of the salty goodness than I can have in my diet. The above ingredients might cut out some of the salt. Sounds legit (LOVE garlic powder and dried dill weed), but you never know, and thought I'd ask for opinions!

    Athyraslove:

For an EXCELLENT no-fat, no-egg, low-cal, low-sodium mayo recipe, check out Rocco's magnificent mayonnaise
(I took out the extra pinch of salt...totally not necessary, and this recipe tastes BETTER than Hellman's in my opinion):

I keep a big batch of this in a mason jar, it is great!
