weight loss minimum but inches lost is good Why?

Hiya
Should i be worried about my weight loss my weight goes from 192-196lb since January ive lost 30lbs
Ive lost 33 inches doing body body revolution and ive been doing insanity since march and lost 20 inch.
ive gone from a size 18 to a 14-16 now.

Should i be worried/upset that the scales doesn't move every week
i just don't understand how the scales don't budge each week but i lose so many inches from my body and my clothes get smaller

The scale is not a good indicator of success.

If you are losing inches and getting smaller then that's great!

As an added bonus, higher weight = higher metabollism so although you are getting smaller, if your weight is stable your maintenance calories will stay the same as when you were larger.

Sounds like somebody has been gaining muscle to replace the fat, top work

as theyall say its not about the scales, if your losing inchies and your body will be taking a new shape it feels good when clothes start to feel to big, congrats on what you have lost weight and inch loss also remeber when you lose fat it can turn into muscle especially when your fitness is high so you will lose the inches is one lard of fat is the size of a strawberry so fatchangin#g to muscle still gives u inch losss so u will be doing great

I've gained 2 lbs on Insanity but lost 4" off my waist. It's normal. When you start something as intense as Insanity, you will develop microtears in your muscle fiber as part of the normal exercise process. Your body will retain water and glycogen at your muscles as part of the inflammation process to help heal the damage. Water is very dense, particualry compared to fat, so it can easily balance or even offset any losses from fat. It usually takes two to three weeks at a given exercise level for the water weight to be released. Given that insanity is constantly pushing up the intensity, it is common not to see weight loss until near the end or after the program. This is why measurements by tape measure and progress picture are pushed so heavily. Your scale will lie to you, which can be discouraging, but the inches will keep coming off, so you know you're burning fat. Don't worry about the scale number. Use your body measurements to get an estimated body fat percentage - it's a much better indicator of how you're doing. As I said, I'm up 2 lbs, but I'm down 3% body fat, so I don't sweat the weight gain. You shouldn't either.

Muscle is more dense than fat. So as you gain muscle that is replacing fat, the scale will not vary much. 1 pound of fat= 1 pound of muscle. But, with muscle being more dense, it is smaller so you see a decrease in inches. So its a good thing!
