Congrats on taking your first step to becoming healthy! The important thing is to take it one day/one calorie at a time. We all have bad days where we eat more than we should, but hopefully we get right back on track the next day. Feel free to send me a friend request if you want some support. Good luck to you!

My best advice is to stop dieting. This site is a wonderful tool for the yo-yo dieter because it trains you in how to eat properly. you can still get a bunch of good food everyday and never be hungry and still lose weight, just by keeping the calories under your goal and walking a bit everyday. I love it!

I think it's hard to do for a lot of us, but probably actually following the plan laid out here on myfitnesspal and only losing the one pound per week, then maintaining by counting calories AFTER the weight is lost is a great idea. I used to yoyo like that between 130 and 160 and now my set point seems to be more in the neighbourhood of 190! My aim is to lose a pound a week until I get to 150 then try to stay there. I've had success in the past getting down to about 140 or 145 but it was waaaaay too hard to stay. I like the system here because you do just get to eat what you want as long as you stay to the calories. Drinking the water is really important. Also, eating vegetables lets you eat lots and lots and lots and it hardly rings in any calories at all. My supper tonight for example is a HUGE greek salad and a couple of vegetable egg rolls baked in the oven. The egg rolls feel like a treat. The salad is ok/good and fills me up. I also bought a cantaloup and a bottle of lemon perrier in case I get the munchies this evening. Good luck to you! Add me as a friend if you want0

i kow what you mean! i got tired of loosing the same 10 pounds over and over again. I finally broke my cycle and joined Curves! I workout 3 days a week and keep a food diary. In the last 3 monthis i have lost 10 pounds and 13 inches. I am mor excited about the inches that ive lost...my clothes are already fitting different! If you have an extra 34 dollars a month and can spare a half hour 3 days a week...i highly reccommend it.0
