I just remind myself "no excuse". That I'm stronger than it. :)

to me those excuses go right up there with I don't have the time, it's too expensive to eat healthy and I'm sore.

I'm really struggling with the heat at the moment. I hate getting sweaty anyway so the heat is really making me want to forego any form of exercise. I'm trying to be good though, getting up early when it's cooler to get moving, and waiting until it's cooled down in the evening. It's hard though!

I like training in the heat...it makes me stronger for my late summer and fall races. In the winter (off-season for racing) my primary focus is on lifting and getting stronger...muscle development, etc, so I'm inside most of the time anyway. In the winter, I do enough cardio for heart health and to keep my general level of fitness up, but I'm not actively training...so I might spin a little...indoor swim possibly...if it's reasonably nice outside I'll go for a jog or a bike ride.

For the heat, first, I get up early and get out to do my runs or whatever workout is scheduled for the day, but second, I try to have backup exercises. There are some weeks, like last week in particular where even at 4 am, it is still too hot for me to feel comfortable exercising. I've had heat related illnesses and do not want them again. If I'm being told to stay inside because we are having a severe heatwave and poor air quality, then I stay in. There are still yoga DVDs and other things that I can do during that relatively short period until the heatwave breaks.

Its mostly good weather here all year except right now when it starts raining all of a sudden. I like getting up before my kids and just walk with my husband, we always end up at starbucks! So thats a lil fun
But because im a big scary cat of the world i do my runs in my treadmill.

Motivation is overrated. You move the machine whether you feel like it or have feeling if motivation or not.... Then weather does not matter

How? Stop relying on motivation. Do what Ned's to done, period, full stop
