                    I just registered for a 10 mile run at the end of October.  I have been training for a 10k at the end of August for the past couple months but think I might need to up my game if I'm going to make this new goal.  Anyone have any good training program recommendations?

            I've always been partial to Hal Higdon's training plans ( he jumps from a 10K to half marathon which is 13.1 miles) if your goal is to run continuously. If you're considering a run/walk check out Jeff Galloway's plans.

            Hal Higdon and Jeff Galloway are both good; but also I would recommend the book, Road Racing for Serious Runners and it is very inexpensive on Amazon or online anywhere. ~ $12 US

            These are awesome tips, thanks everyone! I will check out that book. Never in my wildest dreams did I ever think I would be a "serious runner" hehe.
