How many Calories?

I'm so confused on how many calories I should be eating? I have it set as 1200 right now but I'm am thinking that's not right. After reading around on here i read something about TDEE - 20%, I googled it and found a calculator and after subtracting the 20% it came out to be 1488 calories. Could 1488 correct, it just seems like so much? Would love any help on this matter. Is there a better way to figure this out?
thanks!
also if anyone is looking for friends on here, feel free to add me, looking for more friends for motivation!

MFP is telling you to eat 1200 PLUS exercise calories which easily would be 1488. Since they're telling you the same thing in just a different way you could go with either one and still be correct.

Mine tells me 1200 also but just seems to low for me usually so I have mine set to 1300, and I'm losing 1-2 pounds per week:)

My fitness pal uses the N.E.A.T method (non exercise associated thermogenesis) to determine your daily calorie intake which does not account for exercise calories, so you are supposed to add in exercise calories and eat them back. The TDEE method factors in your exercise for the entire week and gives you your total energy burned every day including exercise. Go with whatever method you prefer. I use TDEE because my calorie intake is the same every single day whether I exercise that day or not, I think it's more sustainable long term, but do whatever you think would be better for you
