okay. so I looked up my TDEE
Im 5'4
25 yr old
207 lbs
Sedentary (desk job) light exercise 1-3x week

I got the whole Macro theory downpack.... now this...

So... It says my TDEE is 2383. So i subtract 20% of that .. I got around 1906. I read thousands of threads on this, but I just want to be sure. I am supposed to consume this many calories a day to lose weight? How long? Im scared to eat that much. I have been doing 1200-1300 a day...and my body is pretty used to it, but the scale is moving slowly.

Welcome!

Yes, you eat the 1906 and don't eat your calories back. They are already built into the 1906. The scale will take a few weeks to even out because you have been eating so little (esp. if you haven't eaten back your exercise calories). You're doing great!
  • Work your way up slowly to 1906. Go up 50-100 calories a week from what you're doing right now. Otherwise (from what I've read) your body will just store up the newfound calories, expecting that you're return to 1200-1300 soon. That being said, if you want to lose weight faster, 1200 calories a day is fine, just make sure you're getting all the vitamins and nutrition that you need. Don't go below 1200 (but I think you already know that).

i worked my way up as well, adding on 100 cals per week until i got up to the 1800 (my TDEE -20%, i'm 48, moderate activity. i was doing 13-1400 a day)

i'm still losing, my size 12's are too big. I'm still wearing them with a belt but i'm freely floating around in them LOL
