Apartment Workouts

Hi all! Been around MFP for a while, but haven't become very active with it. Been doing a much better job of eating and exercising, but I was stuck with a bit of a conundrum. We live on the 2nd floor of an apartment, so I was wondering if anyone had a good workout circuit that wouldn't result in a lot of floor shaking exercise? We've had some problems with the neighbors down there before, so I don't want to stir up anything haha. I do have some dumb bells, resistance bands and an exercise ball that I've been using, doing things like bicep curls, situps, pushups, etc. But I feel like I need something more to really pump up the workout and maximize the small space. Thanks for the help!

Would it be too loud to run/walk up and down the apartment stairs outside? Also, vinyasa yoga (flow yoga) burns a lot of calories and it doesn't make noise. Its different from Hatha yoga (standard yoga) because you don't hold one pose and then slowly move to another, you basically flow from one to another which results in burning calories, sweating, getting your heart rate up etc.0

The stairs are wooden and lead up to a deck out back, so I haven't done that because I was concerned with the noise being a bit much. I'll look into the Yoga recommendation though! Thanks!0

blogilates.com has a quiet cardio routine. There is a bit of jumping, though. Can you run/walk outside? Is there any yard space or a close by park where you could do some cardio circuits of things like tuck jumps, jumping jacks, mountain climbers, burpees, etc.? Blogilates has other good Pilates type videos, and a lot of the strength videos for the befit in 90 program on the YouTube channel BeFit would be quite. Squats, push-ups, crunches, planks, lunges, most upper body DB work, etc. would be quite as well. If you do them in a circuit with little to know rest between sets, you'll get a bit of a cardio effect.0

Thanks for the advice! There is a grassy area between our apartment and the neighboring complex, so that may be a good idea to set up shop to get that stuff done. There's also a park nearby where I do my jogging and running that has a good open area as well that I can take advantage of. I'm not really sure why I never thought of using that space to do these things haha0

I'm not sure how creaky your floors are, but maybe try a Leslie Sansone walking video? It's just walking in place, no jumping around to shake the floor. She has a one mile, two mile, three mile walk and other options like walk away the pounds dvds or powerwalk dvds.0

I"m on the second floor of any apartment as well. I do JM and have done some Leslie Sansone walking as well. I have yet to get a complaint from the people below me. (Even though I feel at times like I am shaking the floor to much with jumping!) If doing a DVD and it involves something that involves a lot of jumping, you can always do something different at that time that still keeps you going but doesn't involve jumping.0
