first of all, please dont tell me to go to a site and calculate blah blah because I have..many times. i agree that it's probably right but I just want to ask you guys because of your personal experience.
I'm 20 years old, 5'4 and 142 pounds. My goal weight is 125, or hopefully less.
So my main question is: am I eating enough or too many calories? My BMR is about 1450 and I workout about 4-5 times a week. I do 40 min cardio and then about 30 minutes of strength training -- usually lifting weights and doing squats, lunges, etc.
My MFP is currently set at 1500 calories. I havent really been losing a lot of weight. I definitely feel better and theres a chance im losing inches which is great
so, is anyone around the same stats as me? I would love to know how other people are dealing with this problem and if I should be changing something.
thanks!

Hi! Very similar stats and body shape to yourself...finding that if I don't seriously restrict my eating/drinking, I sort of plateau around 142. I got down to 138 but it was with pretty intense restriction. I have been able to improve my body shape with weights and intervals...I've decided to focus less on the scale as I feel good / look good / and am healthy. Sorry I can't be of much help x0

I am 5'4 and the only way I can make my body go under 135 is too limit my carb intake to 100. I have been in fitness world a long time and every body is different and the carb limit is the only thing that works for me. I also workout 5 times a week a lot of cardio:) Good luck reaching your goal but you look awesome in your profile pic:)0

My calories are set to 15oo too. I did the 12oo for a long time and lost weight but I felt terrible and tired all the time. I went up to 17oo for a month or so and gained weight but I feel bettter. I'm trying to lower body fat so trying 15oo calories now. I say do high intensity interval training for cardio and when you lift weights; lift heavy! Keep up the dedication and stay at 15oo cals if that's only a bit more than your bmr, your body needs that fuel! Id rather have a lower body fat and weigh 14o because I'm mostly muscle than to weigh 125 and be mostly "fat" anyday. Weight is a number. Its physique and how youu feeeeel that makes the difference0

I am the same height and weight as you. I'm looking to get to 130-135. My goal is set to lose 0.5lb/week or 250 cal deficit daily. I was no longer losing at a 500cal deficit. I just changed things up a week ago or so. Have a hard time believing it is going to work, but it is MFP's design so I'll try to trust it. My calories are set at 1540 per day. I use a fitbit to gauge my activity from walking (around 5 miles per day) and I go to boot camp with strength training 3-4 times per week. I agree, you look amazing in your profile pic. I'd keep up the strength training if I were you and net 1400-1500 daily.0

Ok maybe I can help. Emphasis on maybe.
I'm 33. 145 currently and 5'3.
When I was at my thinnest I was 125 and doing 30-40 min cardio 5 times a week eating around 2000 calories. Started pushing trying to get lower. Started gaining. When I would gain over Christmas or whatever I would have trouble losing it. So here I am at 145. I'm currently doing a reset which is responsible for the latest 4 lbs. I've been a steady 135 for about a year or so before and I was always eating around 1800 calories. Working out 7 hours a week roughly 6 days a week. One rest day. Feel free to friend me and look through all my info. I would say you need to eat more but I would prob need to know more about workout routines etc. you look great thou!0 -
I am 5'4 134 pounds, with the same goal of 125. When I was 125 a year ago I was doing 30 minutes of cardio and 20 mintues of strength training 5 days a week and eating 1800-2000 calories. Now I focus mainly on weight training (trying to reduce body fat percentage) I strength train 5 days and cardio is included into 3 of those 5 days. I am eating 1700-1900, anything less I am really hungry! I am not noticing any scale change but my body looks better now at 134.0
