One of the biggest stars in the online fitness education niche made this video

Scooby has hundreds of videos, a huge online forum and a website full of useful calculators, all for free. Im sure we can see given his age 60+ his physique is absolutely incredible and he is still actively competing in ironmans and 100+mile bike races.

Seeing as he is such a big name online I can sense there might be some threads asking what actually happened, so I'm going to explain it simply.

Hes been very personal about his private life, which lead other online communities to find and drop his docs.

Somebody on /fit/, a board on 4chan, found scoobys engineering company, this included his name

found his home address

found his home is coowned by another man

suspect he is gay

some people make phone calls to his house and business calling him a phaggot

maybe some other stuff happened

People sent hate mails to his family and work

scooby considers he has some enemies in fitness industry

scooby feels it would be safer for his family and business if from now on he keeps a low profile

It sounds like he is going to leave his website (and all those handy calculators) up still, so thats good news.

Personally I think this is such a huge loss and I hope we can see more of scooby in the future :(

    If this is true, it's awful!!! Why do we have so much hate in the world? His sexuality (which we don't even know for sure) is NO ONE"S BUSINESS! And it has nothing to do with anyone else in the world and their fitness journeys. Scooby has done so much for people trying to lose weight, get fit or get into bodybuilding.

    This makes me sad. Also makes me realize we have a LONG way to go as a civilization.

    If this is true then it's just horrible! He's such a down to earth guy that I learned a lot of things from his videos. Such scum on this earth, wish we could wipe them all out!:explode:

    It's so sad that anyone could be that hateful. I really hope he took legal action against whoever was threatening/sending abuse to him and his family.

    Not cool at all. Bob Harper is gay and Jillian Michaels is bisexual. Does that mean they have no credibility on the fitness world? One has nothing to do with the other. That's very ugly.

    I dont know how many people here actually follow scooby, but I just wanted to point out that being an engineer, he was very clever. He showed people how to install safe structural pullup bars in their homes, and had an online web series building an entire aeroplane in his garage.

    He built his house himself, like with his hands, he did a lot of the work himself. And now he has to move. Its very sad.

    Horrible!! How can your sexual orientation define what/who you are in any way, shape or form? What gives anyone else the right to judge??!! Obviously this low life was not taught humanity, humility or life without judgement.

    Jillian is a lesbian, married to a woman and has kids with her. Bob Harper has never discussed his sexuality but people assume he's gay. Either way, sexuality should have a damn thing to do with anything when it comes to anything. To each their own. It is disgusting that someone feels the need to close shop and stop helping people because of some a-holes trying to ruin his life. This whole thing saddens me.

    I don't know anything about Scooby or the site in question, however, there are laws against harrassment such as that which he was suffering from and it can result in the offender ending up in jail. I wonder if Scooby has taken that route to get the offender arrested, if not, it might be a good idea.
