Lil sister and student council, any tips?

Hi guys, this isn't for me but as the title says it is for my little sister. She is going to 8th grade and wants to get into student council, but last year she said it was just a popularity contest (I believe it, since it was like that when I was in school too), so does anyone who maybe teaches or remembers what it used to be like for them have any advice? Anyone can answer (I have no clue since I was never popular either and couldn't figure out a way to get votes)! Oh but they can''t campaign by putting up signs or anything (school rules)....

(this is very off topic for a fitness sight I understand)

She's got to bully people into voting for her.
    She has to lie
She has to be a crook.

tell her to make promises she can't possible deliver on. works for adult politicians and it worked for me in the 4th grade. :drinker:

BTW, i promised to get the cafeteria to make ice cream available every day instead of just Fridays. ...as if a 9 year old has that kind of "juice".
