edited January 30 in Health and Weight Loss
I started running in January and now run 5k three times a week I try to complete my food diary but don't always succeed.
I haven't lost and weight or inches and I was wondering why. I just noticed today when I entered my breakfast that it puts me over my daily sugar. typical breakfast 40g shred dies skimmed milk half banana hand full blueberries. Although usually I'm fine on most other things after completing for the day. under fat carb etc.
And now I'm wondering if this is what is preventing any weight loss. Can any one give me any tips it's really frustrating.

I can't answer your question, but me too, I noticed the daily allowed sugar is very low.
I'm on MFP only since a few days, and I still have to find out how many servings of fruit I can have before being over the allowed amount of sugar.
It's kind of frustrating: I used to eat fruits in the evening to reach my allowed calory goal, but most days there isn't any sugar left to allow for an apple or a peach...

The MFP sugar allowable is based on the recommended daily intake for added sugar, not for natural sugar. MFP does not discern between natural and added sugar in the diary, however, so it is very easy to go over the limit by eating a normal amount of fruit. Unless you have a medical need to track sugar levels, such as diabetes, it is recommended that you take sugar off as a macro since it doesn't provide any really useful information. If you are measuring things by the handful, as suggested by your post, inaccurate measuring could be resulting you eating more calories than you realize. Try measuring everything on a food scale for a few weeks and see if that helps.

Try an omelette or bacon and egg for breakfast for 2 weeks instead of all that sugar / carbohydrate.

+1 on the omelette or bacon and eggs. Another thing to try is porridge/oatmeal but get the ones with no added crap in them.
I find I stay feeling fuller for longer with any of these rather than cereal so I'm not tempted to eat.
