Dietary Advice - open diary

I was wondering if any one had any advice to my overall diet. Macros, micros, or any thing else that might be useful/helpful to add or remove. I've been religiously recording everything that goes in my pie hole for 45 days or so (I won't even lick my finger when preparing food:laugh: ) Since I've joined, I've had some really good results:drinker: , and have completely bought in to the concepts here. Also I have a 1000-1500 calorie burn swing between a work day and off day (using a Body Media armband), and was wondering if I should try to eat the same number of calories every day, that would balance out to an average 1000 cal deficit for the week, or try to keep the 1000 cal deficit on a daily basis. Currently I'm averaging 1500-2200 deficit a day.

Your BodyMedia calorie adjustment looks inaccurate.

Yea, this^ for sure. Plus your protein goal is too low. Fat seems fine. I would trade some carbs for protein for sure.

I've been shooting for a 1500 deficit, thinking its a little high too. I am a bigger guy that has an active job, on my feet and moving for 10-12 hours a day. I spent a day doing nothing:smokin: to get a base line, that day was 2700 cals. A day at work and and a 45 minute cardio workout usually yeilds around 4500 cals.

It's really hard for me to trade some carbs out, because I know that I must have 1-2 servings of starchy carbs with each big meal (snacks I can get away with not) or I will feel like crap and my depression will get out of control. I end up taking away from my fats if I need to cut calories to meet my goal. Everybody needs to determine what works best for them individually.

I'd still say the BMF could be overestimating by a good bit. It reports me as burning anywhere between 2000 and 2800 depending on the day's activity (sitting around all day versus a lot of working out), and I know from past experience of logging calories eaten versus weight lost that my daily expediture without exercise is about 1750. From experiments run during a couple of different years and body weights, I'd say my BMF overestimates my calorie burn by almost 15%. They claim 90% accuracy, so I think they should adjust that claim a little bit.

If it was me, I'd try to have a pretty consistent calorie intake, but as long as you hit your protein goal, if you're just not hungry after that, you can stop eating. There will be some days when you feel hungry and will eat a little more. So it'll even out in the long run.
