I've made black-bean brownies similar to the Dr. Oz ones before and they are actually pretty good. I made 3 different types of low-fat brownies previously (apple-sauce, egg-less and black-bean) and the ones with the beans were the most flavorful and avoided that obvious apple-sauce taste that so many low-fat recipes call for (it replaces the oil). The only downside is that they were very thin, they didn't rise as much as the egg-less ones did, they were probably about ½ a cm high.
Here's what I made
Black-Bean Brownies
½ cup egg substitute
½ cup sugar
2 tbsp cocoa powder
½ tsp baking powder
1 tbsp oil
1 cup black beans, rinsed and drained
1 tbsp vanilla
Directions: Preheat oven to 350 degrees, mix all ingredients in a food processor or blender until evenly blended. Pour into pan, bake for 40 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the centre comes out clean. Pros/cons: very thin, unique but good taste, no applesauce after-taste.
WW Points: 3 (makes 8 - I used a circle cake pan)0 -

bump is used to just add a comment you've made into a topic so that you can easily find it later in "my topics".
when you really don't want to say anything; you just want to find the topic again.0 -
ya... I was craving chocolate (sweets) last night. This would have come in handy, lol.
Bump is a way to keep up with the thread easily without necessarily having anything to say. So instead of searching for it, bump it and then when you want to look back at it, just go to MY TOPICS and tada, there it is !!!0 -
