Has anyone heard about the 5.2 diet? I am told you are to eat 500-600 calories twice per week (depending on your weight) and the other five days eat more of what you want. I actually was told to try it by the man who owns the gym I belong to and he said I should eat no more than 550. I asked for more specifics of what I can eat or calorie intake for the other five days and he didn't really give me an answer just to eat what I wanted. I always heard never to go below 1200 calories. So I am wondering if this is even a good idea to try?

Both of my parents have tried following this diet for a few months now, and while my dad really enjoyed it (he liked being able to go crazy on his days off) my stepmum found she just preferred sticking to a more normal healthy diet. They both did lose weight, but on the 2 days where they did fast, they really did eat tiny amounts, e.g. a breakfast of one crumpet with one poached egg on top, nothing for lunch, and a load of veg for dinner0
