Still bums me out...

Although I anticipated this - it still bums me out :(

Old scale dying, bought a new scale. Stepped on them both and I'm 4 pounds heavier on the new scale. Granted I did anticipate this and thought I'd gotten over the fact it would say a different weight. For a few seconds I even hoped I might turn up a little lighter, but I knew that wouldn't happen but come on man 4 more pounds - now I gotta lose them again. No fair man, no freakin fair !

This happened to me recently and it bummed me out too! I returned the new scale to the store and got a different new one... I liked that one a lot better so kept it lol

I feel ya. The logical mind is sometimes overcome by the emotional response. I had to stop weighing myself daily for that very same reason. As much as I want to collect lovely data points, my emotional mind would not let me, even though my logical mind argued that it was a normal fluctuation.
  • I understand completely. I switched from a plain ol' $15 scale to a FitBit WiFi scale when I bought my FB, and boy was I in for a shock the first time I stepped on it.

It was hard to get over, but now that I'm back on track, I feel OK about it. At least I know what the reality was, rather than being mislead all of the time anymore.
