C25K

Hey everyone,

I'm hoping someone could help me - I'm thinking of starting up the C25K and was wondering how many calories you would log for each week.
I'm assuming that MFP determines calories burned based on your weight etc?
I find it hard to believe that for someone such as myself who is 222 lbs that by running at 4.5m/h for say 9 minutes that I would only be burning like 150 calories.
Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance!

For most accurate burn get a HR monitor and use a HR calculator. But yes most C25K will have a rough guess to your burn. Figure most are within 10% to 15% of each other and swing high or low.

I started c25k today for the first time. For the whole 30 minutes of week 1, day 1, I burnt 274 calories according to my polar heart rate monitor. I'm 5 ft 3 and weight 247lbs.

Great!! Thanks so much. Just wanted to see if there was a variance on that. When you track yours do you look up the walking portion and put how many minutes you walk and then the same thing with your running??

    Yes.
I've been doing it for a few months and am doing 10k training now. I started by logging total minutes of walking at whatever speed I walked (3.0mph for example) and total minutes of jogging at jogging speed (4.0mph for example). Eventually I got a HRM.
