What do you usually do? Like if it breaks or you're away from home. Do you just eyeball or what?

If I'm at someone elses place I guesstimate... Like I know a chicken breast with peas and cream sauce is usually around 5-600 calories, if I put it on the plate myself, so I'll put in 5-650 calories.
If I'm at a restaraunt, I check if they have a website with info, if they don't I check the MFP database and pick something with a slightly higher than the average amount of calories.
I have 2 kitchen scales at home so... But if both are broken I'd either use measuring spoons, eat premade meals (bought or home made) or guesstimate.0 -
This is half the battle of calorie counting and adjusting your diet to fit your life afterward. Start weighing things you eat often (cheese, fruits, etc) and you'll soon be able to eye-ball a guesstimate. I usually underestimate most things without a scale. Use the "deck of cards" rule for meat. Once you're good, you'll catch on naturally in life after you get to where you'd like to be.0

I just guestimate how much I am eating of each thing. I usually estimate high "just in case" because for years I have been estimating low and look where it got me.0
