From Low Carb to Normal

Hi everyone,
Couple of weeks a go decided to do something about my eating and exercise habits.
I cut out Alcohol to start with (during the evening it was quite common to have a bottle of wine), now only drink on occasion.
I thought Low Carb was the way to lose weight. Now I know better:happy: I am trying to have a more balances diet.
There are 2 things which I find difficult.
1. Eating enough calories
2. Eating enough carbs
Does anyone have tips for me?
Best regards,
Zee

Well done
1. Increase calories : Fats will be your best option here , Oils , butters, nuts , Avo , cheese and full fat products. Tip: 1 table spoon of olive oil has around 100-120cals .
2. Getting in carbs: Fruit smoothies are packed with carbs definitely try it out . I can get over 100g of carbs in a smoothie0 -
Thanks for the tip! Will do some shopping (nuts, fruits & blender) and start with it!0

I am currently (for nearly 3 weeks) on a high protein, no carb diet. I know I have to included carbs now, but feel uncertain. I bought the Dash Diet Solution book and will try that, but they include fruits and carbs in their second phase (although the carbs are also very low).
I'm so scared that if I start with carbs I will over indulge. I also need help!0 -
My calorie intake is about 1100 per day. I also eat a lot 1 nuts, avocado and mozzarella cheese daily. In other words my diet is actually high protein, high fat. If I change to a more balance diet which include carbs and fruits I suppose I need to eat less fats and protein?????0

Slowly incorporate carbs back into your diet , have some fruit every day and maybe add in some carbs post-workout if you train . The over-indulge part is psychological. Be positive about the transition and know that it is all for the better , Track your calories before you eat it helps over indulging .
When you start eating carbs again your weight will fluctuate , ignore it (its water weight/glycogen). Stay in a calorie deficit and eat your carbs . Over time you will have more energy and look even leaner .0 -

Track your calories . To be honest 1100 isn't even enough for a 12 year old girl . have you worked out your TDEE?0 -
