If I don't refrigerate the package after opening (leave in my desk drawer in an air conditioned office), will bad things happen to me?

I store mine in the freezer. Not sure if you really have to or not but I feel better about it. I am afraid it could go rancid.0

I've always kept my flax and chia seeds in the pantry and they seem to be fine.0

In fact, one must keep his ground flax seed in the fridge or in the freezer to keep the omega-3 acid from oxidation.
