I'm 255 lbs 5"8, I'm quite a large build my stats are these :- hips 54" waist 42" chest 57" my wrist is 7" forearm 10" and my waist to hip is 0-77. apparently my body fat calculation is 28.56... my point is as i haven't lost any weight despite trying for the couple of years. I've have decided for one last attempt and getting this weight off my goal is to lose 30 lb by the time I go in for surgery for a breast reduction on the 19th sept- for the last 3 weeks I've been eating 900-1200 calories a day with a fast day in the week and a cheat day on Saturday I've been running - weightlifting and swimming 3 x a week for the last 5 weeks and before the drop in calories i was on the 5:2 diet where i was eating reasonably for 5 days and fasting for 2 days.... I have not lost a lb NOT ONE. and not dropped any inches either. needless to say I'm gutted and had a little cry into my dogs fur this morning!!! do I continue with what I'm doing with the understanding that it's science and the weight has to come off! or do I change my tactics? I need help any ideas anyone? i've stopped drinking fizzy drinks and have about 2 litres of water a day. Please can someone give me some advice i feel that ive wasted that last 2 weeks and feeling stressed that my goal is sliping away from me as 30lbs in 3 months seemed achievable now not soo much...
The 24 lb lost is from January 1st and I lost the first 20 lb in 6 weeks but nothing since

I had this happen to- I was working my *kitten* off for a month and would gain and regain the same 2 pounds. Now suddenly, i've lost 6 pounds, and it's staying lost! Make sure you are accurately tracking your calories, and relax, keep going and believe in science!0

You maintain your current weight at 2297 calories per day.
A 1000 calorie deficit would put you eating 1297+ exercise calories to lose 2lbs a week. Eating less than this will cause you to lose more lean muscle mass, lowering your over all metabolism. This is unhealthy.
Please eat more calories.0 -
I only have words of encouragement for you. 24 lbs is plenty of weight lost, and you should be celebrating that you made a commitment to your health and well being and you have something to show for it. I congratulate you! I can't wait to see what I look like after 24 pounds lost.0

If you are truly eating just 900-1200 calories a day, you are severely under eating. Does that calorie average include your cheat day? Are you logging everything accurately, weighing and measuring it?0

Make sure you're weighing your solid foods and measuring your liquids so your tracking as as accurate as possible. It's so easy to be eating more than we think when a kitchen scale isn't used consistently. I know my 1 cup portion might be 1/2 cup one day and 1 1/2 cups another depending on any number of mental factors. If you're working out a lot are you eating back your exercise calories? MFP sets your calorie goal with the loss deficit already factored in before any exercise. Exercise burns extra calories and can make the deficit too large for the body to sustain.
I guess my suggestions would be to make sure your tracking everything and doing it as accurately as possible. If you're doing that, then meet your calorie goal for the day. Being under the "Your Daily Goal" section seems like it would mean a bigger loss, but it doesn't always, at least not for me. Fuel your workouts.0 -
Hi. Yes everything has been weighed out in my kitchen I put my plate/bowl on the scales and zero after every item nothing has gone in my mouth that hasn't been planned for in advance including cheat night - I even weighed out wine!!! Including my fast day and cheat day I average out at 1000-1100. I'm not normally so diligent but as I have a big goal - to lose weight for surgery I thought I would really go for it and feeling really demorilised that nothing has moved in 2 weeks not even a nice drop of water weight to make me feel better - nothing - nada - nilch!!!!!!!0
