Is dieting causing me nausea?

I have been using MFP for just over 2 weeks now, and sticking to my calorie goals :) I decided it was important for me to start as I have had very erratic eating habits my whole life and tended to get rather ill.

Making sure I don't over eat or under eat has been really good for me since I started working, since I don't have to take sick leave nearly so often.

However I have been getting nauseous A LOT. Usually this is after eating a meal, even if the meal is not large and I was very hungry to begin with, and lasts for hours. I have not been eating any foods (that I can think of) that I didn't eat before starting MFP. Is this usual when changing one's eating habits? My appetite is also decreasing, some days I can eat under 800 calories without realising if I don't pay attention.

I really want this to stop because I have had an eating disorder in the past, and the nausea makes it incredibly tempting to throw up after eating- but that is not a road I want to go down again.

Any advice or help would be really appreciated!

Not sure if this helps, but I was getting nauseated during my workouts--turns out I wasn't drinking enough water....Do you drink enough when you exercise?
    Have you changed your diet?

Is it possible you are overthinking when you are eating or WHAT you are eating and psyching yourself out to the point of nausea?

Maybe pre arrange some everyday meals that you can either prepare or order mindlessly so less and less thought goes into each meal and you can just get to where you can automatically have meals.

Maybe this will get all that detail out of your head and make mealtime easier, if thinking too much about it is upsetting your tummy.

I get nausea if I let my blood sugar dip, but it always goes away when I eat.

I also wonder if it might be psychosomatic. At any rate, if it keeps up see your doctor.

Would you be willing to open your diary so we can see what you're eating?

I would talk to a doctor about it. If it only happens after you are really hungry try to carry snacks with you. Swings in blood sugar can be triggering the nausea so you may need some blood tests to figure it out.

Thanks for the advice guys, I told my doctor but he really wasn't sure.. going to do a blood test anyway, and since its been really hot recently I'll be making more of an effort to stay well hydrated!
