Positive stories of eating more to weigh less

I haven't lost any weight for 3 weeks despite daily exercise, mix of cardio and strength training, very healthy, clean eating with a real
effort to increase my protein intake and cut carbs massively. Because I sometimes have a little wine or eat a bit more at the weekend I find it impossible to justify 'eating back' my exercise calories in the week, worried that I need this deficit to compensate. I am on 1220 calories a day and usually come in a bit under on food then even more so when factor in calories burned. Can I really lose more by eating more? I feel demoralised at trying so hard with no results. Appreciate any comments.

It isn't so much that you will lose more weight if you eat your exercise calories, just more of it will be fat instead of lean muscle mass.
I net 1410 calories a day, I've been losing 1lb a week with no issues. So when I exercise and burn 400 calories, I eat 1810 calories that day.
Also there is no reason to cut carbs, your workouts are eventually going to suffer, you're taking away your muscles main source of energy.0 -

Are you using a food scale?0 -
I'm hoping to see a good result on scales in next few days as I gain 'around that time'. Working v hard with gym workouts, incorporating a lot more resistance and weights and not just cardio wh is what I always did before. It's round my middle which bugs me. I am slim but I have love handles, have had 2 kids.0

Yes, I weigh everything where necessary0

Eating to lose works for me. I'm never hungry!
I EAT between 1800-2000 most days and depending on my workouts (NET 1300-1500).
I don't eat 100% clean, but it's mostly fresh and good foods.
My macros are set at 40/40/20, making sure I get plenty of protein and balanced carbs.

This! The scale is your friend. You will learn that a cup or tbsp is really not a cup or a tbsp which can either let you eat more or make you aware that you've been overeating this whole time :drinker:
Ooops just say your other post.0 -
Yes, I weigh everything where necessary
What does 'where necessary' mean, exactly?
And, on topic, I eat around 1700 average (goal is 1825) and I seem to be doing fine.0 -

Last year when I was desperate to lose weight i started eating less and exercising more. Well I slowly ate less and less till i was down to barely 200 cals a day and my body went into starvation mode and went from 119 to 124.
I then told myself i was stupid and changed my ways and started eating more and still working out. After i came out of starvation mode (11 months ago) I gained weight and became 135! But this time i restarted my diet and it was verrryyy hard. But now I found a way to eat what I like! I'm now 123 and going for 119
You can add me as a friend and check my diary for what i eat0 -
16 months ago, I stopped starving myself at 1200 calories and started eating more, increasing by 100 calories every few weeks. It took time, but eventually I got to the point where I could actually maintain on my TDEE (which most people would gain like crazy with metabolic adaptations)
Anyway, Ive gained about 9 pounds since February 2012, but I have gained a lot of muscle and repaired my metabolism

Bolded part is an important question, IMO.0 -
