Seduced By the Illusion

Whilst surfing the internet with my morning coffee I came across this article and I felt it was too good not to share.
Sure..it's totally possible to transform your body as that's what so many of us are on here doing - All working towards our own goals and even if its only baby steps or big leaps it's all part of the journey.
On the journey to planet 'dream body' we will most likely take note of DVD's, supplements, shakes, bar's, diet plans and one thing they all have in common is 9 times out of 10 there is a 'before' and 'after' picture.
I think what this article shows is whilst yes it is possible to look like the model (or fake it!)..we all shouldn't be seduced by the illusion and beat ourselves up when we don't *really* look like the model after 3 months...

I agree! It just proves that deep down..we can all look like these people, just give us a razor, some soft lighting..maybe some fake tan!

nice article! I also used to beat myself up for not looking as great as a fashion model. Over time I have come to realise that its health and fitness and not looking skinny that matters.

Yep time and time again I have come to the same conclusion, the trendy image of ripped sweating god like types preaching the no pain no gain mantra is bollox, health and fitness should not be about punishing yourself every workout and being perpetually exhausted and or injured or in pain, nor is it about starving yourself, these things are what turn so many people off. It is about balance and common sense, seeing yourself clearly being realistic, seeing through the photoshopped god/goddess on the poster/inspirational qoute and loving yourself regardless, it is about being mindful of what you put in your body and it is about taking regular exercise that you enjoy! But most of all its about choosing a healthy and fun LIFESTYLE.
