Does anyone else do this?
How does it compare to a regular yoga class in terms of improving balance and flexibility?
I don't know if it was a new release or just the instructor's whim, but I went to a class this morning and it was amazing!!! The intense tracks were working our backs (instead of legs or arms which it has been the previous times I've gone), and my back hasn't felt so fantastic since before I fell off a hayride in fifth grade.

Lots of Les Mills talk recently, I love it!
I found BodyFlow not as difficult as the yoga in my studio. I can also count on getting lost in the music in BodyFlow, whereas with freestyle yoga, sometimes I am feeling the instructors music and sometimes I am not. The awesome music IMO really helps distract from the difficulty of the moves we may be performing, whereas in yoga I really feel the maximum brunt of every pose!! As usual the prechoreographed Les Mills format means I know what's coming next and how long I have left to suffer in each pose. LOL
My balance and flexibility are great. This class really helps me stretch things out especially after some of the higher impact classes I take all week.0 -
Thanks!
My gym has a yoga class, but I'd only be able to fit it in my schedule once a week, and that would skipping other classes I love, which doesn't really seem worth it. Unless I did hot yoga, but that just seems way to intense for me right now.0 -
My current gym doesn't offer this (or any yoga/pilates for that matter) but I did it at my previous gym and loved it. Never done a full on strict yoga class, but I certainly felt the benefits in this class and we really worked our backs and abs.
I used to do it after an hour class or workout, so I'd be in the gym for two hours but it was a great way of cooling down whilst still getting a workout!
I miss it
Edited for typo..0 -
I teach Body Flow (as well as many other LMI formats) and it's awesome! It's not studio yoga...very different....has the pilates and tai chi mix in with it. It's a bit more fitness than zen...but the music is awesome and I love the guided meditation at the end!0
