My daily value shows 300, yet just two large eggs puts me at 420! Is this good cholesterol or bad cholesterol?

I did a little search because I have been wondering the same thing and was very surprised to learn this: "So what does raise blood cholesterol? One of the main theories is that saturated fat does. Of the three types of fat (saturated, monounsaturated and polyunsaturated), saturated fat raises blood cholesterol and LDL levels. It so happens that eggs contain mostly polyunsaturated fat, which can actually lower blood cholesterol if one replaces food containing saturated fat with eggs."

I thought eggs were mostly saturated fat!! The poly and mono fats are good for your heart. Sat fat is bad for your heart.

I'm not sure if it's "good" or "bad" cholesterol. :( The cholesterol is all in the yolk. If you like eggs but don't want the extra cholesterol, use only the egg whites. Egg whites contain no cholesterol. You can also use cholesterol-free egg substitutes, which are made with egg whites. But, I myself like to have a boiled egg frequently for breakfast. I usually have it w/ a lower cal english muffin to help make me feel more full. The body makes what cholesterol it needs. The more that comes from food, the less the body makes. So cholesterol levels are controlled automatically. Ya don't want to overload the body beyond its ability to regulate its levels. Exercise helps too. But in general...if on a day you decide to have eggs for breakfast you want to watch your other food intake that day to shoot for lower cholesterol foods to help keep your body w/in healthy levels.

Saturated fats are not bad for your heart. That is a myth and has been disproven time and time again.
