Calories burned during weight lifting?

I'm relatively new to MFP (I've been a member for a couple years but I'm just now actually using it). Anyone know why, when you enter weight-training exercies, it doesn't give you calories burned? I do weight training 2-3 days a week, and it's almost always either incorporated into a cardio session (tabata, HIIT), or immediately following a cardio session. I'm so confused on how I can doing all this weight lifting not burning calories??? I'd love any insight! Thanks!

    It's too difficult to determine calories burned so MFP doesn't include weight training in calorie burn. http://myfitnesspal.desk.com/customer/portal/articles/11170-why-don-t-you-calculate-calories-burned-for-strength-training-

    But, you can go to cardio and there is a weight training category. I give myself 200 calories for an hour of weight training, about 25% more than MFP gives me, or 150 on a physical therapy day. What does everyone else give themselves?

    If you search under cardio in your exercise diary for "strength training", it comes up with an approximate figure, but bear in mind, it will not really be accurate, there are too many other factors involved really.

    I rely on my BodyMedia to tell me what I've burned during a 50 minute lifting session. Usually it's between 150-200 plus the after-burn (another 50 or 75 calories). And it really depends on your stats. I'm 5'3, 188 lbs...

    I wear a Heart Rate Monitor... My Trainer Incorporates HIIT during my Lifting so I get some great Burns from an Hour. I Usually hit the 600+ for an Hour, even when I die for some time (My HRM loses my heart beat and does not record for a time until I adjust the strap)...

    I give myself about 50 cals an hour but I don't do any additional cardio in there.

    Heart rate is independent of calories burned while lifting. And in between sets you should be resting. You're missing the point of listing if you train like this. Unless it's specifically for threshold training for say sports.
