Just downloaded the app again and am looking for new friends whose diet is compromised of mostly fruits and vegetables. I'm trying to kick my junk food addiction and need ideas of good tasting fruits & veggies. Thanks!
This may be in the wrong section?? If so, I apologize.

Just out of curiosity OP, what will you eat for stuff like protein? Will you be eating quorn or stuff like that?0

I eat a little over 8 servings of fruits and vegetables daily on average. We are in the process of moving so I have not been eating as usual or logging regularly lately. But I'm not sure my logs would give anyone ideas for meals. I log a lot of stuff as recipes so the exact ingredients don't show in the log. Otherwise, it's just a list of vegetables and fruits, because I also don't log seasonings or very low calorie sauces.0

I eat at least five servings of fruit and veggies a day (though the majority is fruit... I gotta work on that). Just experiment- buy a few different things and cook some simple recipes (stir-fry, salads) to help you identify what you like. After that, just buy more of those things! I feel like a lot of people get turned off of fruits/veggies because they try to jump right into more complex things like spaghetti squash or fresh pineapple (harder to cut than you'd think).
My kitchen is always stocked with: zucchini, bananas, apples, lemons, carrots, and tons of beans and lentils(if that counts). As much as I love them, I don't keep corn or potatoes stocked. They're like quasi-vegetables when calorie counting. At this point, there is nothing that I straight-up don't like, but this is recent in my life... and I need to really be in the mood for celery or cauliflower.
Also, it could just be the placebo effect, but lists like these really help me curb the junk food: http://www.dailytransformations.com/food-cravings-here-is-what-your-body-really-wants/0 -

Such simple advice that I didn't even think of. Lol. Thanks for posting. I'm going to check out the link.0 -
I usually eat a fair amount of veggies - but I'm part carnivore so you won't see a meat free diet if that's what you are hoping.
I'm a creative cook so feel free to friend me and snoop through my diary. I'll answer most any question about it.
My biggest advice is buy something you haven't tried each week and study/try it, every meal think "what fruit/veggie could I add to this recipe/plate, and for best quality produce eat with the seasons. Peaches are in here right now and I could eat a bushel of those juicy sloppy fresh ripe peaches. I keep a bunch of precut veggies all in their own little bowls in the fridge - like my own salad bar. Sometimes I just munch through a bowl, sometimes it's tossed into what I"m cooking, most days it's just for my salads, someteims it's added to a plate of hot food.0 -

sending you a friend's request I'm currently transitioning to a whole foods, plant based diet and the majority of what I eat is veggies and fruit. My biggest tip would be to start drinking green smoothies. I have one every day and my base recipe is kale, spinach, strawberries, banana/s and then plain yogurt. I then add whatever else is in season-right now I'm adding cucumbers, collard greens, raspberries, blueberries and peaches Green smoothies are an easy way to get in veggies and you don't even taste them. Mushrooms area also a great addition to a plant based diet-lots of health benefits of eating them and they taste great in salads or sauteed with a big of butter, salt, pepper and garlic powder. Sometimes I also add bell peppers and onion to make it more of a meal0 -

LOL - I eat Vegetarian/mostly Vegan (due to some health issues) AND I don't eat Quorn *shudder* nor Soya based products (such as Tofu) again *shudder* and I don't have any problems with protein intake. There are lots of other foods which are very rich in proteins. Due to my health issues I always have to keep an eye on my protein intake so that I don't get too much and I always find that very difficult. :flowerforyou:0
