How to make your hair grow faster?

Anybody have any information? Nutrition, hair products?

I'm getting annoyed. Granted, I've made lots of progress from where my hair used to be to where it is now, but it has taken nearly 5 years.

My thing is I want to get to my goal length before I decide whether or not to chop it off. I'm losing my patience and am tempted to cut it now, but I want to see what it'd look like if I got it as long as I had planned to.

Any advice/info is appreciated. Thanks!

I have asked the same thing. And I am getting my hair trimmed tonight (one of the suggestions) and I've started taking Biotin-a vitamin supplement that all of my hair friends have suggested.

I (unfortunately) missed my last appointment with my stylist because my hubby came home from a long trip and we had plans for when he got back...but usually I'm good about getting little trims every 6-8 weeks. It seems to help with keeping my hair healthy. I'm just annoyed at now long it's taking to get to my goal length...I mean it's been 5 years.

    Biotin...I'll make note of that.
  • Eating foods that are high in Biotin and taking a biotin supplement can help.

If you try both and you don't see results, making an appointment with your doctor would be good.

I take this "vitamins for the hair" by puritans pride... don't know if it makes it grow faster, but has made it stronger and healthier... plus it has iron that i desperately need.

I have heard that if you cut it when the moon is waxing it grows faster, when the moon is waning it grows more slowly. I'm not a real doctor, but I am an astrologer.

...purpose of that was...? I asked for information. If you have none to give, please refrain from commenting.

I'm hearing that a lot. It may be helpful for keeping my hair stronger as well. I notice I lose a lot when I wash my hair and it seems to be breaking easily as well.

It contains iron as well? I'm afraid of the common side effect of iron (constipation)...TMI?

I do have a hair supplement at home that I bought ages ago but stopped taking because it was causing that problem.

Biotin is amazing! It's done wonders for my hair. Coconut oil is also helpful with breakage, it makes hair a lot stronger. If you put it on for 15-30 minutes and then wash (sometimes I even leave it in overnight) it acts as a deep conditioner.

Hey, thanks for the tip...I'll give that a try.

^^ lol my thoughts exactly, honestly. Hair growth rate is genetic, you can't change it. You can change the condition of your hair slightly by eating a variety of fruits and vegetables, and taking a daily multivitamin. Prenatal vitamins have slightly higher concentrations and may product better results. But again, you can't make your hair grow any faster.

Yup, Biotin. That and regular trims and keeping your hair healthy with conditioning and not frying it with dryers and straightners.

I did grow my hair this summer. I hated it. I was doing it for someone else. I resented the hell out of him. So I went back to what made me feel better.

But, I know I can do it and if I choose to grow it out for myself, I know I can.
  • agree with everyone else..Biotin is awesome!!!!

& ive been told by an OB/Gyn at my work that prenatal vitamins will too regardless if your pregnant or not

not really related but ever since i quit drying my hair at night & just let it air dry, its looks some much healthier & stronger even with me flat ironing it EVERYDAY :)
