1800 Calories?

JessieNeutronGirlGenius
edited January 30 in Food and Nutrition
So, I decided to up my calories to 1800 instead of 1500 I feel that I WON'T eat that much but it gives me extra in my budget in case I have a glass of wine or exercise that I can eat those back. Is that too high? I'm 5ft 137lbs looking to drop to 115-120.

Depends how active you are. Have you worked out your TDEE?

This. My TDEE on days I'm not active is 1900 at most. I'm 5'5", 35, and 163 lbs.

Well, how quickly have you been losing on 1500 lately? If you go from averaging 1500 to averaging 1800, assuming activity stays the same, your losses will slow (by about half a lb per week).

I am also 5ft, and currently weighing 114 after dropping 20.

I have figured out over months of logging and comparing to actual weight loss,
that my TDEE on days I'm not active is 1880.

So I eat as much as 2,500 on days that I do exercise heavily.

Don't be afraid to eat more. You'll feel better and look better (droopy skin vs. muscle).
Just make sure you get lots of protein in. Feel free to look at my food diary - it's open.

Thats totally fine. Remember consistency is better than quick results - so you will lose weight and keep it off that way.
  • it will likely work just take longer/require a little more time in the gym. Also depends on what your filling those extra 300 calories with... ie fat/protein etc.

    good luck! :)
