I know what I'm going to look like.

I lost 120 lbs 4 years ago on diet pills, but gained it back. Now I'm losing it the right way. Some people say they wonder what they'll look like when they're at their goal, but I know. I've been there ever so briefly.
April, 2013 290 lbs
April 2009 150 lbs
Anyone else have these glimpses of what they might look like?

Well with working out and doing it right you might look different. Probably even better.0

You will probably look even better because this time you are using food which is slower than diet pills, plus any exercise you are using to get to goal weight will also preserve muscle.

Yes. I've been reading over my old journals, hitch I posted on my blog and I just skyrocketed down. I had tons of loose skin and wrinkles. I'm hoping to avoid that by going slowly.
I just wonder, why didn't I think I could do it on my own? I guess I thought it was impossible, but I'm learning I'm stronger than I thought.0 -
I was a size 22, now a size 10, but I WAS before those, a size 4. However, I am going for fit, strong and defined which I have NEVER been. Raise the bar just to give yourself some mystery. ;-)0

I'm in your corner girl, I totally know you got this!! You're like a ford, built tough ...0 -
I just look at the avatar and the ticker I'm using. :-)
I don't expect to look quite like that again, though. I'm now menopausal and not quite as firm as i was back then. Caregiving means my workouts are different -- they're less intense, but more sustainable over the long term. Sustainability is my main focus now.
I'm also 9 pounds away from goal as of this writing, so I'm pretty darn pleased. :-)0 -
I know what I'll look like too. I don't have a picture scanned though.0

I have my before/after. Check my profile pics.I starved myself on 800 calories a day to lose 100 lbs in a very short time.Stayed there for roughly 4 months before diving head first into junk food and developing all kinds of eating disorders0

I agree with some others. WIth you working out too you will look great!0

I've never been thin BUT my mom is. She's an inch shorter than me and we're around the same bone structure, being large, so I figure I'll just look like a smaller-chested version of her lols.
OP you're gonna look fantastic.0 -
I'm wearing clothes now that I kept from 10 years ago when I was at my thinnest, so I thought I knew what I'd look like when I got there! But I do look different - some good ways, some bad! My hips are smaller, my boobs are bigger and I still have a bit of a mummy tummy after 2 kids. Plus, obviously, I look older!
Back then I just did cardio, whereas now I do a lot of strength training as well as cardio. Plus I used to restrict myself to 1200 calories a day back then, and I went out drinking a fair bit.
Either way, it's nice to be back in my old clothes!
Good luck to you!0 -
i have an idea of what i might look like. but I doubt i will look exactly the same lol0

Before I started having trouble with processing carbs and my thyroid being depressed, I was about 70 pounds lighter. I have a small collage in my photos that I look at daily to remind myself why I'm working to manage my carbs and get fit again. It's a great motivator!0

All the people saying you'll look different due to doing it slow & steady, incorporating exercise, etc, are so very right. I've been at my original goal weight for nearly a year now. I've weighed around 140 before, even a little less back in 2005... I've never, even in high school, been as small as I am now. In 2005 the smallest I got was fitting into 8s from Old Navy (which tend to run big) and medium tops. I wear 4s and 6s now, small tops (though, in juniors, which I occasionally buy, I wear a medium). My wedding dress (wedding in September), which run more toward "true sizing" than other RTW clothing, is an 8. (As a reference, in 2005, when I had to get a dress for my BFF's wedding, and those dresses are sized the same way, I had to order a 12 and have it tailored to fit correctly.) So even though I was roughly the same weight, I was 2 sizes larger.
Anyway, I just wanted to say, don't sell yourself short. And keep up the great work! :flowerforyou:0
