Mixing organization with chaos...

Just doesn't work sometimes.

I'm chaotic. The thought of being organized, making "to do list", organizing my workspace and the like drives me insane. I literally stress out about the stuff that doesn't matter when I'm required to do those things.

So in my truck I'm usually ready for anything life throws at me. I've got water for being outdoors, fishing rods, tackle, my gym bag (empty), usually at least 2 towels (maybe used but not yet funky), tools, kids play toys (have a 2 year old), softball glove, cleats, and an extra set of clothes.

So Ms. organization throws a wrench in my system and tells me to clean out my truck. Now I'm doing things like having to use my keys to unhook a bass on a quick fishing trip, forgetting my gym towel (of course it's her fault), forgetting my cleats to my softball game, and not having toys to keep my son from being rambunctious on a car ride.

I guess my point is that I'd like all type A personalities on this board to tell me what a horrible person I am and that I'm just a slob...

Like me. Everyone used to call the trunk of my car, the bat trunk. I had something for all occasions in there.

You just have your own system of organization. That's normal. You don't have to change it to her system. Explain it to her.
    It's that easy.

I am very organized and but still have so much stuff n my car. Just because I'm scared there's a situation and I'm not ready.
I got water (a pack of 20 or so bottles in the truck and 2 in my fridge), and snacks, I got so much medicine I can supply a hospital, an extra cell phone, sleeping bed, blanket, clothes, extra gym bag, clothes and shoes, emergency equipment, firefighting set, ropes, lights and candles, etc and etc.
I got stuck once in winter storm for a night and my emergency stuff helped me a lot. Especially the extra cellphone, my blanket, clothes and water with snacks.

see, for me, "clean out your car" doesn't mean "get rid of stuff you use" it means "those 578 half-empty water bottles are making it so no one can sit, can you toss that out?"

I would... but I'm just like you. Give me my clutter. At least what I need is right there when I need it.

I found an easy way to keep all my stuff in my car and keep it semi organized I bought a storage bin with a lid and toss everything in there, pop the lid on and leave it in the trunk until I need something out of it

I would never presume to tell my SO to clean out his vehicle...but then there was that odor...yeah, I won't tell ya what it was or how long it'd been there.

And that's the end of my story.

Somehow I get the idea your trunk looks roughly like this:

What if I am a type A slob?
I am very driven, and do all the things a type A person does in my head. It's always running through the back of my head.

But, I have my CRV basically loaded with the things I would need "just in case", and it doesn't bother me. It's all just squirreled away in various spots in the vehicle. I get a lot of complaints about the back and how messy it is, but I know where to go and get stuff when I need it.

Was thinking exactly this. The step in between "stuff all over the place in someone else's way" and "move everything out so that you are inconvenienced" is....."organize, consolidate, fold, etc". Sheesh
