I started my journey in September of 2011 (at 299.6 pounds) with a Vertical Gastrectomy surgery (bariatric surgery) and lost about 55 pounds with that initially. The last 6-8 months, I have lost another 25-27 pounds just counting calories, and basically eating mostly protein/veggies/fruit/good carbs in my diet. The drivers license photo is from July 2011, 2 months before my surgery. The after photo beside it is from last week. My weight loss is kind of slow moving at the moment, which is why I decided to come back on to myfitnesspal and start logging all of my foods and exercise again, to keep me motivated and accounted for. Good luck to all of you on your journey to a healthier you!!!!!!!!

Seriously amazing difference! I honestly thought your former picture was your much older mother. You've knocked 25-30 years off that picture!! Great work!

in all honesty, what I do the most is just walking, usually an hour a night. I slacked off during the Christmas break, and am actually JUST getting back into the habit this evening with a friend. I had the surgery in September of 2011, and didn't do any exercise at all for basically the first 8-10 months..then went ahead and added walking to my weekly regime (at least 4 nights a week). I have attempted Insanity a few times, and it is just well..insane. Right now I am focusing on just walking, and I do sit-ups/push-ups on my own after my walk because I am way too jiggly!!!!

Good job. I have just started walking but just gradual to get into it. Hope you have a great walk tonight. How many push/sit ups do you do?

I am trying to do 3 sets of 50 sit-ups (different ways..leg lifts, actual sit-ups, crunches) then I can only do like 3 sets of 10 girlie push-ups. Babysteps!

Wow still pretty impressive to someone that does nothing and probably should do something! Think I will give it a go, though not so many to start of with! On the positive your exercise regime is free which is a bonus!!! Keep up the good work as the results so far are amazing!!!

Thanks you guys! Yes, my driver's license was taken in July 2011, 2 months before my surgery. It is crazy, because either most people don't remember me looking like that, or if I see people now that I haven't seen in a year or so, they just don't believe it. I have naturally curly hair, and have always had it long...once I Lost a bunch of weight, my stylist wanted to shorten and straighten it, and now it is always straight so that is another reason people don't recognize me. I am not where I want to be yet (have about 50 pounds to go..) but I am happy with my loss so far. Slow and steady!

So true- I spent many of years looking at success stories all over the internet before I finally decided enough was enough, and that I needed to get busy so I could have my own pictures!
