so i have been at this for almost 2 years, i am 5.2 ft and started at 142lbs and now 116. My goal now is just to lose body fat and look more toned/ defined. I have a comparison pics from last summer till today, i was 122 lbs in the 1st pic and had just finished 30ds for the 3rd time. The other 2 pics i am at 116 ( doing t25 currently). I really don't see much of a difference even though since that pics i am 6 lbs lighter and i completed slim in 6, clx ( chalean extreme) and now doing Focus T25... I figured i should of looked better/ different? i have been busting my butt this year and back then i wasn't doing anything consistently. i would do 1 program and then nothing for 2 months, then do one program and again nothing for 2 months.... etc. what are your thoughts, here is the pic.

Your stomach is definitely more toned and your arms. You look wonderful, really! I would love to look like that one day. IDK how you don't see the differences!

thx, we all are blind to ourselves, right... i was 122 there and now 116 and i only lost 0.5 inch off my waist and belly. all measurements are the same otherwise. I feel like i don't have a waist anymore and more of a ruler shape now... i just fell kinda cheated, lol if you know what i mean. back then i was not doing daily exercise, just one month then nothing for 2, etc and now i do it 5 days a week and have finished 2 whole programs and one my 3rd. so i thought i would of seen more body fat off and more definition then i have...
i do realize i look a whole let better now losing 26 lbs in total, so i know if i were to compare those pics i would be like " wow" but after 1 full year of busting my butt in exercise, i was a bit disappointed.
    * they are the same jeans in both pics*

A little less body fat on your abdominal region, but there's not a lot to compare to.

There is definite difference. You look amazing in all the pics. The first pic you do have softer lines and your hips have more roundness because of your bf%. The last pic your lower abdomen is tighter and looks more defined, again because of your bf%. Choose the life and body that will make you happy.:flowerforyou:

thx :) i thought when i took that pics last AUG, that i was at my goal at that point. then i realized i still needed to lose more body fat for more definition but i am finding it a struggle. SO that is why i upped my exercise and i have been very faithful with it but yet not much changes... so i am not sure how else to drop a bit more body fat to be a bit more defined? i mean in 11 months, ( TOTAL ALMOST 2 years) i thought i would of seen more change.... i have surpassed my goal of 120 and now almost rethinking my 115 goal?

Are you just doing cardio? If so, then some of the weight loss will be attributed to lean muscle gain. If some muscle was catabolized, then you metabolic rate would be lower and would have to exercise harder to meet the same calorie burn say from 4 months prior.
If you're not resistance training, you should. You look great now, but would look awesome with some hard resistance training. Don't think that Shaun T just does cardio work for his physique.

i was doing clx ( chalean extreme) a strength training program for the last 3.5 months. I started 1 week ago Focus T25 as i figured i needed to do a bit of cardio to burn some fat off as well that didn't seem to be coming off with just doing strength training....

Are there other differences you can note between this year and last? Like, you can run longer, or cover more distance in less time, or lift more, or other things? Change isn't just about measurements, and there are lots of fitness achievements to be made that aren't reflected in your physical dimensions. (Just trying to focus on the positive here -- not trying to sound snarky.)

well yes you have a point. since doing clx, i have never been stronger, i went from 5 lbs dumbbell curls to 20, so yes when you look at it that way, yes there has been huge changes, but who doesn't want visible changes to go along with all that hard work, right...

It's a completely different lighting on the photos, so the difference I see taking that into the account is that you lost that little bit of a muffin top you have on the first one.

not sure why it's different. same place, same time of day and no flash.... but i do see what you say about the lighting. i am wearing the same jeans so i thought that would be a help ;)

Yep, the fact you're wearing the same jeans totally helped! :)
In first pic I see the (tiny, but nonetheless) pouches sticking out of the edges of the jeans, and those are 100% gone in the other pics.

Might try a more basic approach. Compound lifts 8x8 method with only 30 second rest between sets. I use this with fitness clients who prep for shows.
