I also log on at different times, you can use the back arrows on the date at the top of the log to go back a day , some times it still logs for the day you are on then I have to delete it and use the back arrow again.

It doesn't matter which you do, just be consistent. I work night shift, so my "day" runs from 5 pm to 10 am. I usually log based on calendar day for my own convenience on nights, but when I'm on days, I log from awake to asleep, even if that day drags on passed midnight. Pick whichever works for you and stick with it.

I start logging from the day/time i wake up or as i call it my "clock-in date". LOL I work 1030pm to 630 am and I usually sleep from 9am to 5pm, or wake up a little earlier, so as soon as i wake up that day i start logging

TBH I input my meals before i have them...I tend to plan ahead, like the night before I'll decide what the next day will be...If i eat anything not part of the plan i just add when i can, If i don't eat something i just subtract it...My water intake is always the same (10 glasses daily)

I hate when my mind is scattered cause i give into the laziness...Routine is key for me :))
