have a question about the calorie counts

when it says i need to take in 1200 cal. is it bad to be under that or is it ok as long as your not over it??

Its usually ok as long as you are not over....but you don't wanna be to under. If you eat too much less than 1200 calories, your body will go into a starvation mode and start trying to store everything you eat as fat. Its kinda like a fight or flight response.0

Studies have shown that 1200 calories seems to be the lowest point anyone can go without their body's metabolism shutting down and going into starvation mode. Going below 1200 occasionally isn't harmful but doing it on a regular basis will almost certainly cause the metabolism to slow to a crawl. And once it is stopped it can take a year or two (and maybe more) to get it back to a normal state again.
Just because 1200 sounds great doesn't make 800 or 600 even better. A little water is a great thing. Too much and you have a flood. Same with fire. Your body needs certain amount of calories just to function to carry out the normal functions of your body: breathing, brain activity, etc.
So don't go below 1200 routinely. What's the rush anyway?0
