have any good advice on working out on a Total Gym XLS

Hello,
My name is Ron, I'm 57, I live in the Midwest. After many many years of trying to lose weight and get fit I once weighed 385 LBS so I have lost a lot of weight already. I feel as committed as I have ever been. Due to a number of disabilities I am limited as to what equipment I use. The Total Gym XLS seems to be the right system for me so I purchased one.

I am looking for others that are in the same situation as me and would like to exchange work out ideas. I have 6 DVD that came with the Total Gym but I am trying to design my own workout. If you are too feel free to message me and maybe we can help each other

I got mine in February sometime and it took me awhile to get the hang of it but I used to weight train with free-weights when I was younger.

This machine is great because you can start at a low incline to get used to the exercises and there is no danger of dropping a weight on yourself.

I actually designed my own routines after about 5 workouts with their starter program. I felt better choosing my own and motivates me better.

The only problem I can see is the setting up of the machine every time you workout, it would be better to leave it out set-up like that but I personally have no room to do so.

All in all, I enjoy my once-a-week TG workouts, in the mid-week, I do abs and cardio. I feel it tones my muscles and my cramps and sore joints have went away.

Have fun, design your own by not being restricted to their routines but be sure to work all parts of your body. Have a great day
