Helloooo MFP community!
I've been on MFP for over a month now and don't think I've actually stopped in here.
Just wanted to say hi.
I have no huge goal to lose weight, just to get into a healthy shape and bring my BMI down into a "healthy" area, and just feel better overall. I actually signed up for MFP as part of my lifestyle change suggested by my family doc.

Hi ~ I am making new choices about exercise and a healthier eating lifestyle due to my diabetes and the onslaught of symptoms (in my mid 40's) which I didn't think I'd experience until my 70's. Instead of being disheartened I am motivated today and am here to take advantage of the site and all it has to offer. I'm glad there are options online that don't require a credit card so I'm thankful today!0

Welcome to MFP. There are a lot of folks on here who are simply moving toward changes their bad habits.
I had 20 pounds I wanted to lose and thought this would help me track calories. Once I started, I couldn't believe how many calories were in certain foods and was amazed I had not gained much more weight than I had.
Once you can see what you are consuming for calories, it becomes very easy to alter your food choices and/or portions. I have not once felt like I was on a diet or depriving myself and it's a great way to meet like-minded people.
