Weight Gain- Confused!?

So i havent been trying to loose or anything and i and have pretty much been the same weight for a few years give or take a couple of pounds at different times of the month. Recently i have noticed a 2kg gain in my weight and whilst i dont really feel this in my clothes etc im confused as i have been exercising well and eating wel as normal. I am an active gym goer anyways so this shouldnt be any retention of water or due to starting a new exercise routine. I have thought about the sodium factor/ bloat/ time of the month but this shouldnt be a perm weight gain and would usually dissapear again but weeks have passed and its not dissapeared, hence im taking this as a perm fat gain ?? Oh and im definately not pregnant.

Has anyone else expereienced any random weigh gain and if so what/ how did you get back to normal ( Given i exercise, and eat well and follow same diet as i ahve for years!?)

Suggestions welcomed :)

I wish I had a suggestion, but I'm just going to follow responses to your question because I'm currently dealing with the exact same thing. I'm going to my doctor this week to test for thyroid levels and anything else, but I have a bad feeling in my case it's just my metabolism slowing down as I'm turning 40 next month. Good luck with everything.

What exercise? Lifting weights you can gain lbs muscle wise or even cardio from long periods of inactivity can result in muscle growth in calvs and hams. Stay with the diet your on and keep your routine normal and check your weight in a week or so, it may have just been excess water or something you ate or just a scale flop

If you haven't been to the doctor in awhile it might be a good idea for general health to get a check up and some blood work done. I know my water weight can take two or three weeks to level out. Have you changed the battery in your scale? When it gets near time for mine the number can be off by quite a bit.
  • I can fluctuate up to 3.1kg for a couple of days with no noticeable bloating or water retention.

Couple of things to keep in mind

    1) Eating -40% below your TDEE for long periods will result in fluid retention
    2) Your calorie intake may be enough to maintain your weight
    3) Exercise does not equal weight loss. If you're not losing and you exercise more, you may be negatively impacting yourself (eventually you will lose weight) but it really comes down to diet. If you eat the same diet all the time, without moving things around and if you're taking in too little, your body will adapt and your metabolism will eventually drop off (over the course of months).
    4) Make your diary public :) post your daily calorie intake, height, weight, age, and exercise schedule :)

most likely have gained muscle weight and not fat weight
I could lift weights and convert all my fat to muscle and still weigh the same take measurements instead
