Counting steps ?

I have read a bunch of posts, but don't seem to really see the answer to this. I am using Accupedo to count my steps, my daily steps are almost always over 10,000 steps just doing my normal daily activities. I have my setting set to sedentary. I feel like there are days I am having a difficult time getting up to my 1250 calories and days I need more. I am not counting those steps as exercise since they are just doing every day things, should I increase my activity setting a bit? Or is it set already to account for that many steps?

10,000 steps is about 5 miles of walking. According to my reading, that's considered to be moderately active.

You do not count your normal daily activity as exercise. Exercise has to raise your heart rate for a sustained period and be something more than your normal routine. So your steps per day are not exercise. You should have activity level set to moderate.
  • I count my steps but i count them when I walk as exercise this helps me track calories I am burning so far i hace lost 3 lbs in 3 weeks with this method. I do not count my daily activities but i do count my steps when i am walking as exerciser since i am burning calories. I would change your activity level and begin walking more and counting those steps as excersise
