Juicing Buddies

I am starting a juicing fast next week and am looking for people who either have done, are doing, or will do a juice fast to get support. I am doing it with a friend of mine who has similar weight loss goals and health concerns. I'm using a plan from Joe Green's site while I get my bearings and begin the fast. As it progresses I will modify it as needed.

Hi. I've been wanting to do a veggie juice / fruit juice and broth fast myself soon. I've done them in the past (several years) ago and have found that really eating an exemplary diet a few days before and a few days after is SO helpful. I need to get on that myself - I had knee surgery and it is a slow process with not much activity except rehab. Aaargh. Needless to say I'm gaining weignt and not eating great.
Is everyone in your house doing it also? That's also kind-of been a deterrent for me as I know my husband will not be into it. I'm going to check out that website too, thanks for inspiration.

I just finished a 30 day fast and currently am doing a vegetarian week as I break the fast. I would love to offer support for anyone who is currently doing a juice fast because God knows it can be hard! lol But it is not impossible Although I expected to lose about 25-30 lbs I lost 15 which in a month is not bad at all and I am currently in the lowest weight I have been in about 8 years.0

I am doing a modified juice fast - I juice breakfast and lunch and eat a small dinner.
Did a total juice fast for three days back in June.

I had plans on trying a 3day smoothie fast mid-august (when I start my vacation), I was a little weary about doing juice because of the lack of fats, and 3 days was about all I think I could handle at the moment. I do enjoy a green juice as a snack replacement though.
Here’s what I’ll be trying:
Breakfast:
1 cup water
1 tbs flaxseed
1 cup rasberries
1 banana
¼ cup spinach
1 tbs almond butter
2 tsp lemon juice
Lunch:
½ cup Almond milk
4 celery stalks
1 cucumber
1 cup kale
½ green apple
½ squeezed lime
1 tbs melted coconut oil
1 cup pineapple
Dinner:
1 ½ cups coconut water
1 cup blueberries
½ mango
1 cup kale
1 tbs lemon juice
¼ avocado
¼ tsp cayenne pepper
1 tbs flaxseed
And as much water as i can drink0 -
I eat very healthy but I cut out meat and dairy for the next week to prep. My husband isn't doing it just me so it will be interesting.0

I'm hoping it will help me kick start my weight loss. I've just been maintaining since my son was born.0

Just started one today! Me, my boyfriend and his brother are doing a modified two week juicing diet. We get Saturday and Sunday to eat (healthily) and back on juicing for another 5 days. We're doing it not to lose weight necessarily, but to jump start our weight loss and motivation. I haven't given up coffee and I plan on having a protein shake after my gym workout.

I have been doing a modified version for 2 weeks now I have small yoghurt at breakfast a meal at lunchtime and juice/smoothie of fruit and vegetables in the evening I am losing 2 lbs a week I will try a fast when I am on holiday cant cope with one while working at the moment as I have a very physical job would love some support0

ETA on a side note, you should always consult w/a doctor before starting any kind of juice fast, so they can at least do blood work
juicing is a great way to fill calorie voids, but it is not supposed to be intended for all meals of the day.
If you want a kick start i would read up on the pro's cons of it. Know your facts, there are plenty of online communities for this
ALSO, you need to know what are the right fruits and veggies to use, some fruits are very high in sugar and some vegetables are very high in starch. There is a right and wrong way to juice. You should know that most ppl that do these juice cleanse gain the weight back because they didn't do their homework b4 they started. Also, its recommended that you do nothing strenuous if your going to juice, including not going to work.
Yes I personally juice, but I do it as a supplement for vitamins and nutrients and because its great for energy but I also eat 1600 cals a day in food0 -

Feel free to Add me....I mainly juice during the day and eat sensible low carb dinner. I am not a veggie eater so juicing has worked for me. It is very difficult to juice fast for long periods but best of luck0

I did a 10 day fast in the past and lost about 15 pounds. I was tired during it, but the weight loss kept me motivated. I plan to do another one in September or October.0
