How to Stay Motivated

Hi all,

Apologies if this is already covered in another thread, but I just wanted to ask all you seasoned MFP veterans; how do you stay motivated? I'm currently flush with excitement and energy and optimism (I'm beginning anew), but I find my motivation starts to falter after a while.

Any tips?

My motivation is the gym.... Every morning i wake up i just want to hit the gym and hit it hard, the fact that you can change your body is enough for me.

I have been weightlifting & working out for 32 years now, I am 49.. Don't have a magic secret, just know that I want to look the best I can at the age I am, If you love yourself , you want to take care of yourself. If you like what you see in the mirror , then you will want to get your *kitten* in the gym and keep it up, eat clean do what needs to be done, some days I don't feel like it but I get up and go to the gym, maybe you can find a friend to train with you, buddy system..

Just posted this in a very similar thread but I'll post it here too  I personally work out in the mornings before work. I have noticed that on days I skip the gym, the days seem so long and I'm irritable all day. When I go to the gym I have such a better day, and oddly enough even though I have to get up much earlier, the day goes so much quicker. Plus, I like food. Working out for me = more food throughout the day, and that I like!

Thanks for your replies guys! I might try fitting in my walking earlier in the day - it would be good to have the satisfaction of a job well done when it comes to sticking with the calories throughout the rest of the day.
