I became debt free yesterday, save for a car loan. As a reward, I have $1,000 to go shopping for clothes with. What should I put on my shopping list??

well since all i tend to wear is Khakis (Eddie Bauer), button down shirt, polo shirts and jeans, I am not much help.
I would spend 1/2 on clothing, and the rest on camping equipment .... no I wouldn't I have all the camping stuff I need.0 -
DEBT FREE!!!!:drinker: :drinker: :drinker: :drinker: Congrats0

I-I would buy groceries.0
-
Nothing, I'd make an additional car payment.0

I would buy groceries and toiletries!0

Express.....they have the best most comfortable clothes, and their stuff out of season is always on sale. That or a nice pair of lucky jeans....they last literally forever and are as comfortable as wearing sweatpants0
-
A Victoria's Secret Bra.....
Or you could buy an eliptical trainer0 -
I'd buy a pair of Louboutin pumps, a pair of jeans, and some fitted knit tops.0

Nothing, I'd make an additional car payment.
I'd totally do this too. Not truly debt free until ALL the debt is gone (except maybe a mortgage -- that's another option: put the money in a savings account for emergencies, or a down-payment on a new home!)0 -
Either setting it aside for car/house payment or take a trip even a mini one. Make it healthy and fabulous0
-
Half off the car, half to spend I'd say. That's way too much to be blowing on clothes!0

Congratulations!!! :drinker:
I'm planning to buy some new pants when I get the dough to clothes shop again. But A1's idea sounds great, a vacation (big or min) sounds great too!0 -
I would put it in savings for an emergency fund.0
-
I'd buy a trampoline.0
-
Invest in Hostess stock.0
-
I would put it in my safe0
-
CLOTHES!!!!!!!!!0
-
Spa Day. Nice Haircut, pedi/mani, and a facial.0

Sessions w/ a Running Coach!
Save some, spend some on a Nespresso machine.0 -
OOOOOhhhhhhhh! I have played this exact game!
My dad got me a $1000 gift card to Macy's when I grad'd college. So there was no "make a car payment" or "put it in savings" allowed
I spent $250 of it on a watch that I still wear all the time and love, a Citizen eco-drive that will never need a battery.
I spent $100 of it on a pair of black scallop-edged lambskin gloves that now fit my hands ...... like a glove...... LOL
I spent $300 on a navy blue wool peacoat.
The rest I spent on a bunch of clothes I no longer fit into, and a pair of shoes that I rarely wear.
IMHO, the watch was the best part of my spending, because I wear it so often. I wanted to invest in timeless/classic pieces that would last, and the gloves, the peacoat and my watch are BIFL items.0 -
You are not debt free, you have a car loan.
I would use it on the car loan.0 -
I'd purchase a bunch of balls like the ones you get in a ball pit and then fill up the entire house with them. Then I'd cut a hole in the roof so I could jump down into all of them and we'd play hide n seek.0

I am boring... school so i wouldn't have to worry about it. and maybe get a new "small" outfit that fits good0
-
$1000 bucks huh? Go on a mini vacation or weekend road trip! Get a cabin, do some wine tasting, get some spa treatments! Awesome! ... or be boring and sensible and put it back in investments lol:glasses:
butttt if it has to be clothes, i might second victoria secret.0 -
Supplements! lol0

Spa Day. Nice Haircut, pedi/mani, and a facial.
This!
Also body peeling, massage, body wrap.
For the rest of the money it's better to buy the best skin care.
Or I'd buy a Gucci dress. There's one on sale right now, about this price, but it's size 38, too small for me.
Or these Cristian Louboutin shoes http://www.saksfifthavenue.com/main/ProductDetail.jsp?PRODUCT<>prd_id=845524446596335
I'd love these ones too but my calves are too big to fit into those(( oh well, that's wh I'm ere too

I would buy new winter clothes, because mine from last year are meh. So...jeans, boots, sweaters, coats, etc.0
-
Edie's Rudi dress.0

Clothes?
...but I already have like 3x that in pre-ordered things over the rest of the year so I wouldn't be able to buy anything else. (there's some t-shirts in there though!)0
